Writer John Putnam and illustrator John Severin crafted this story in EC's Two-Fisted Tales #40 (1954-55) less than six months after the battle occurred, based only on information provided by French and other European news services.
America would start sending advisers to train South Vietnamese soldiers in mid-1956, slowly escalating our participation until we were fully-involved by 1964.
