...with Canteen Kate in a tale illustrated by noted good-girl artist Matt Baker from Fightin' Marines #3 (1951).
Kate quickly graduated from being a back-up feature to her own title, which lasted only three issues due to the comic book witch-hunt of the 1950s, which shut down almost 3/4ths of the industry, including her publishers, St John Comics.
